More iPhone "Trojan Horse" News

The big "news" of the week for me was Equity Research Analyst Brian Marshall's declaration that the iPhone will be the gateway drug for Apple's penetration into the Enterprise. The Broadpoint/Amtech researcher gave some juicy nuggets of detail of the iPhones's Enterprise success. I have not ready the report, but first learned about it through EETimes, then others.  The BIG specifics from the report quoted:

"Three U.S. government agencies have each deployed 30,000+ iPhones [and] three Fortune 100 companies have each deployed 25,000+ iPhones, including 19 Fortune 100 companies that have deployed 10,000+ iPhones,"

Marshall goes on to suggest that this kind of success is an all but certain precurser to more Macs making their way into the Enterprise. How can it not be?  The 150 Business sales reps in the US are much better positioned and armed now than they were when Apple last attempted to scale this wall back in the 90's.

Marshall had other nice words to later in the week.  Alacra Pulse had all of it listed here.  The other exciting comment of note was the highlighting of Apple's Cash on Hand.  At greater than $30 Billion, they have more net cash on hand right now than ANY other technology company.
